Cummins’ first localized HyLYZER in China ®- 1000 products

On January 29th, Cummins Accelera launched the world’s first localized HyLYZER for the Chinese market ®- 1000 products officially went offline. This model product is a Cummins PEM electrolytic water hydrogen production equipment product, which is a modular product with a single 5MW capacity and a hydrogen production capacity of 1000 standard cubic meters per hour.

At present, the product has completed laboratory testing and can achieve a 5% ultra-low load operating capacity. The direct output hydrogen purity can achieve 99.99% (without hydrogen purification or water content). This product design is very suitable for convenient on-site indoor installation needs, and capacity can be increased through simple module interconnection. Its reliability, low maintenance cost, and excellent safety performance make it very suitable for wind solar coupling, used in the production of green hydrogen.

Based on a globally validated modular electrolysis water system, this product will begin its localization introduction in the second half of 2021. Based on a localized supply chain system, it has been designed with adaptability to domestic market laws and regulations. At the end of April 2023, the product was officially put into production at the Cummins Enze Green Hydrogen Equipment Manufacturing Base located in Foshan, Guangdong. It was assembled in September of the same year and entered the debugging and R&D verification stage in the testing room.

This series of products has been widely used globally, and its excellent hydrogen production performance has been verified. Multiple sets of electrolytic water hydrogen production equipment have also been successfully deployed in China, including the Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield Renewable Power Electrolytic Water Hydrogen Production Demonstration Project and the China Three Gorges Group’s “Source Network Load Storage Integration” project. Among them, the Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield project has been in operation and production for 13 months, with an annual production capacity of nearly 400 tons and a green hydrogen purity of 99.999%. The hydrogen produced every day can supply 106 buses to travel all day, and the target annual emission reduction is 2200 tons of carbon dioxide.

This product significantly reduces the manufacturing cost of green hydrogen equipment and meets the customized green hydrogen energy solution needs of local users with a shorter delivery cycle.
